Our winter menu kind of got on the heavy side this past week. I'm not sure really what happened but apparently we needed some winter time comfort food. It was kind of nice to see the windows steaming up as we roasted the turkey on Thursday. Helped heat the house up quite nice too!
We dodged the snow by a couple of states and for that I'm thankful. The cold winter temperatures help to remind me though that we are in Michigan and it's winter. I've even heard in some places further north reports of ice shanties going up for ice fishing. Somehow I got it into my head we were going to miss winter all together. I was rudely awakened...
A least Spring is not as far off now.
Our menu changes frequently in my home with use of leftovers, garden produce, deals, or special occasions that come up. With that in mind I have decided to tell you what we have had this past week instead of what I have planned ahead.
Sunday Hot dogs with Coney Island Hot Dog Sauce plus chips
Monday Culver's with family (husband's birthday gift card)
Tuesday Salmon cakes and French fries
Wednesday Fried chicken, Southern Potato Salad, corn
Thursday Turkey breast with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans
Friday Lunch- salad topped with sliced turkey (dinner out with friends ..their treat)
Saturday Leftover dinner from Friday night
What was on your menu?
