My Frugal Ways This Past Week and No Spend January #4

My Frugal Ways This Past Week and No Spend January #4

Going through the beautiful grandbabies toys I found three receiving blankets from when she was little.  I put lace on one to use a baby doll blanket, made two baby doll burp cloths, and some baby doll diapers. She is a little young yet but I'm making things as I find the time and materials.

I also went through her toys and sorted out them out.  I put a four baby rattles on the table to put them aside table for a garage sale.  I came back in later with a bag and the husband had put them back in the toy box for me.  He tries to be so thoughtful... I didn't say a word.

I ordered a Burger King Gift Card from Swagbucks.   My swagbucks came in from shopping online at Christmas time.

Downloaded a free embroidery pattern (free until the end of Jan. 2016).

I saved leftover green beans and the turkey bone in the freezer to help make a soup later.

Our No Spend January:

Wild things happen in the Kitchen when you cook a lot:

I was so tired last week and I couldn't figure out why.  That was until I published what was on our menu last week.  I realized then that I had cooked a lot of hard to make food that resulted in a lot of hard to clean dishes!   I'm going to remedy that this week..easy food it will be!

Where did it go? ($20 a week spending money)

We spent $35.00 this week when we went out with friends Friday night. They took us to a Mexican bakery and we ended up spending most of that money on two bags of Hot tamales. The rest was spent on slices of cake, cannolis, cookies, and apple turnovers. that were wrapped up for us in a pretty little box. Wonderful..just wonderful.

Our saving grace this week was our piggy bank!   Enough to cover our costs and a little more!  Yeah!
