Yearly Goals -Update on April 2016

Yearly Goals -Update on April 2016

Where did April go?   It went by so fast and I almost forgot to update you on my yearly goals I set for my self.  I think writing them down has helped a great deal with keeping me on track.

My #1 goal is to be the best wife, mother, grandmother, I can but here is where I step outside the box this year (not in any order):

2.  Volunteer.   I always just give but I would like to do both this year. I want to get out there and help a charity.  Not necessarily every week but I would like to volunteer as much as I can.

Jan.- I've started crocheting hats for preemies in the hospital. They are having a Mickey Mouse challenge in my crochet for charity group on Facebook.

March

I finished the hats, donated them, and now I'm on to cutting out squares for a charity quilt.  If you are interested in donating too you can read more about it here (you have till April 15).  This is harder than I thought to make a perfect square but I'll will!

Update:  I just mailed them the material....no perfect squares for me!

I went back to my old elementary school when I heard they needed help with their gardens.   It was amazing the transformation that we were able to make in one day.  It would not have happened though without some amazing volunteers.

The above is a before picture...I will be taking after pictures and posting them next week.

3.  Get healthier.  Eat better, exercise more!

January

We exercise by walking in the mall with grand baby at least 2 or 3 times a week.  I'm still working on the healthy eating part.

March

We have started walking outside some and on the bad cold days I've found a church that has a free walking track in it.   Wonderful.   I'm eating healthier and I have also lost 4 pounds!  Really though as I'm writing this I could go for a candy bar.  Don't worry it helped me just to say that and now I'm over it!

April

I have to tell you the truth everything in my diet went down hill fast.  I know that is not the way it's supposed to go but it's the truth. I will have to get my mind and body out of the gutter again. This is the hardest thing ever.  I need to concentrate more on keeping myself healthier.  I haven't lost any weight.

4.  Remodel the house a little (bathroom needs wallpaper and our bedroom needs a little  a lot of TLC)

Jan. -No spend January just got over and we are doing a low spend February.  We hope to start remodeling on Easter Break.

Yearly Goals -Update on April 2016

March- I have painted the bead board and I'm half way done wallpapering the bathroom -it's been a very slow process.  I hope to be done totally by the end of the month.  I will never ever talk about a contractor again.

The After picture of the Bathroom

April-  Bathroom is finished and remodeling is officially over.  You can read the cost break down here.  We spent the rest of the money on a vacation.

5. Improve this blog -redesign, keep learning, etc.  I have some great readers and visitors on this blog and I want to make it a great place to visit. I'm so thankful for each and every one of you!

Jan.- Blogging has been great but it's a learning experience for sure!  I'm learning more about twitter (just last week I gained 60 followers), I'm working more on Pinterest, and considering adding a Facebook page.   That somehow scares me...I'm not sure why.

March- Gaining followers quickly on twitter and very slowly on Pinterest.   I need to work more on updating them more often.   Facebook still scares me.

April- I'm on Facebook (still scares me)!    If you use Facebook come over and join me... please!  I need friends!
