Here are the ways I've saved this past week.

The grandkids picked two pumpkins in the garden this past week.  Grandson was so impressed with getting it out of the back yard.  He told me when he gets older that he is going to grow a garden of his own (I love that). There are more out there but they are not orange yet.

I bought a $10 Burger King gift card for 800 Swagbuck points and we had a cheap take out meal this week.  With coupons it just cost us $2.92 to feed the 5 of us.

My last laundry basket broke and I remembered the basket that holds all my yarn.  It's flimsy but it will be good until I find a new one on sale.

I was looking at the list of savings challenges listed at Broke Girl Rich and I finally picked out an easy one.  I decided to start the savings challenge where you save every $5 bill that you get.  It's hard letting go of the $5.00 believe me.  Some times I have just forgot and spent it. I have managed to save $20 in the last 2 weeks. Not bad. This could be used for emergencies (you should keep cash around), vacation money, or Christmas money.

I made two pillowcases for my grand kids.  I bought them a new pillow apiece at Aldi's so they will love it.

Among other things, I was able to find the grand daughter a lot of pretty clothes at a church garage sale.  You could stuff a plastic bagful for $6.00.  I'm a good stuffer. 😉

Goals for this next week:

Defrost the freezer (it has just now gotten cool enough to do this)

Start canning mustard greens.  It's been raining for two days so hopefully soon we will get out there.

Start cleaning the garden.  I need to pull up the tomato cages and the sticks that I use to make the bean tepees and put them in the shed for next year.
