The grand daughters tractor frozen in time.

It finally has become winter here in Michigan. When I open the curtains  the snow really brings a lot of light to our dark winter world plus it's pretty!

I have been downloading all the Merry Days of Christmas coupons from Kroger every day.  I didn't buy all of the things of course but the coupons were there just in case.

I did buy a lot of sugar on sale at Kroger for .99 for a 4 lb bag. The guy behind me in the checkout lane asked me what I was going to do with all that sugar. He said it looked kind of suspicious to him and that maybe I was secretly making moonshine. He was totally cracking me up.  Really, I'm glad I won't have to pay full price for quite awhile.  I want to know something though, where did the other pound go?  Yes, I remember not too long ago that sugar used to come in a 5 lb bag. ...

I finished making  two travel pillow/blankets for friends. I didn't have my new camera yet so I couldn't take a picture.  They were fun and simple to make so I'll know I will be making more and sharing in the future.  I used the fleece blankets I bought at Menard's Black Friday sale, used a Joanne's coupon for the fleece material for the pillow square, and used the lace I bought at a garage sale this past summer to trim it. Total cost maybe $3.50.  Really, we just care about each other and want to express that, so our gifts are not about how much money we spend.  Thoughtful gifts matter!

We went to estate sale and I bought 6 Santa plates for Christmas dinner for $3.00.  I think the grand kids will love them.

I found a new hiding place for food that I need for baking or something that I would like to taste!

My goals for this week:

Wrap up the rest of the presents and mail one out.

Make some chocolate candy with the grand kids.  Last week we made volcano cookies instead of  the gingerbread.  They were gluten free and everyone loved them.
