How to Store Vadalia Onions

If your like me you love the sweet taste of a Vadalia Onion.  We just can't wait till they come to Michigan in Late Spring. The only problem that we've had is keeping them fresh for a long period of time.  Over the years we have tried many things to make them last longer and have had only had limited success until we tried this one:

We wrap them individually in newspaper and store them in the refrigerator in the vegetable bin.  Very simple but it works!

How do you store your Vadalia Onions?

We have also had great success using newspaper to help us get red ripe tomatoes into November.

A great way to make green tomatoes last longer!
