Our helper!

Image may contain: one or more people, tree, shoes, outdoor and nature

So glad to have a helper these days!  Our grandson and granddaughter come over and we hold grandmas school everyday.  Then when it's over Pop usually has a chore for the grandson like gardening, car repair, or power washing. So, he has had a variety of experiences at our farm in the city.  Then he is off to play his video games.

Gardening Forgiveness

See that man down there?  That's pop aka the husband.  Well that row he is covering up is where he told me to plant my cabbage, onions, and lettuce.  I went lengthwise one row and he went width wise for 5.   He forgot that it was there and I had to go uncover all the plants last night.  I do believe all the cabbage and plants will live (not so sure about him).

No really, I decided I had to forgive him (he laughs and I forgive).  He said he was sorry and worked hard at fixing the damage.  I guess we can't garden every year without a little drama.

Please leave a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

LOL! I'm glad he is forgiven! You are wonderful grandparents! These life lessons are the ones the grandchildren will not forget.

I know it's stressful and sad but I hope all the children are able to remember some good times.

Sorry about the extra work, but I'm glad your plants will survive! Looks like you have a good helper too.
I've had a few gardening mishaps with my hubby. The worst was the currant bushes and raspberries that I brought back from my Daddy's house. I put landscape timbers in front of them but hubby mowed right over them. I think one currant bush survived.

I really think that most kids will remember lots of family time and special things rather than the stress unless they have lost a loved one. Our neighbor Dad of five keeps telling us how much fun they are having at home. I wonder if they will go back to five kids on five soccer teams and never being home after this. It has certainly changed the way many think about family.

The reason I use stakes in the garden! I just planted the rest of my garden today and decided I'd better put popsicle sticks in to mark what I did. Otherwise I'd forget what went where! It's just nice to be planting, and whatever comes up I'll be happy with. My son threw all kinds of seeds in a raised bed, and we are guessing what is coming up, which can be fun too. Glad your grandkids are able to spend so much time with you. Great memories, no matter what! Cheryl in WA

It certainly has put priorities in family time.

Yep those things happen here! I think they get used to a mowing pattern and don't look at the barriers sometimes.

that's a Good idea for stakes! I have wrote myself a map sometimes. We marked these potato rows with sticks from the neighbors yard.

You know I love the idea of throwing seeds and guessing. How fun!
