Thanks so much for coming by and taking the time to share your comment. I love that you want to add something constructive to the conversation. I myself have learned so much from the comments left here! So please remember to be nice and supportive so we can encourage every one who comes to Vickie's Kitchen and Garden. I will delete you comment if I consider it rude either to me or someone else on this blog!

Hubby was my tutor in High school He always preached do parenthesis first... if you think the parent comes first??? parent hesis LOL. My grandson had this in 3rd grade. Hubby tutored him also
ReplyDeleteYes we finally get that..after a few lessons! She is helping a bunch of them right now that it's not cicking with.
DeleteOh goodness I hated teaching math. We ended up hiring a tutor & I never looked back. Even if I could do the problems I was just too slow for my son & he'd get so frustrated.
ReplyDeleteI've never been able to keep a menu but at least I do use up leftovers most of the time & plan ahead enough to have regular meals.
Tonight is ground ribeye burgers....I found a pack on clearance. Ribeye is my husband's favorite cut of beef so I grabbed them. I've had them in the freezer for awhile & plan to cook that with home made potato chips for supper.
A tutor sounds good so do homemade potato chips! Good ideas Jenny!
DeleteFor help with your math troubles, check out the free site, Symbolab. It not only tells you the right answer, but how to get it : ) (you will have to change the times symbol to dots, so the machine doesn't think it's an algebraic "x") hope it helps you

Also, this song helped my daughter a lot with this type of task https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jflJKmsAEc
ReplyDeleteLove that song! That's very helpful Anna thanks so much!
DeleteHa I vaguely remembered enough math to help my kids with homework, but even then they used some math techniques that were new to me. I will be completely clueless if I ever have grandchildren needing help.
ReplyDeleteYou are a good grandma!
We have had rain from Beta all day so soup sounds good to me.
Have a great weekend.
We are very dry here Kathy. I think we will get rain next week.
DeleteI'm glad it's Friday!
When I was helping one of my grandsons every afternoon/evening with his homework, I always kept the order of operations handy, so I wouldn't tell him wrong. Here's a good video that explains it really well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdFXImly2-I I think this guy has a follow-up video that adds in brackets, when you need that.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Kay..I'm learning a lot...I'm her beginning to be wonder, did I not do this in school or did I forget. I was smart but I think I zoned out in math!
