I canned some sauerkraut last night.  There was a total of 7 cans but 1 didn't seal so it's in the fridgeI'll be done with the kraut tonight.  I'm thinking I'll get another 3 or 4 cans.

I keep these in my daughters basement.  It stays dark and cool in the pantry down there.

I remember Mom putting up extra cans down there too.   Yep, my daughter now lives in the house I   grew up in.  I love that.

Sometimes I put things on the menu that I really want to make but find that I'm too tired.  So, it keeps getting bumped to the next week in hopes that I'll get this wonderful burst of energy and be able to make it.  It works here and there.  Today, listen I'm just glad the ribs are thawed out and the cabbage is clean and ready to go but I'm still thinking about making that cornbread!   I can do this!

Monday         I finally went to the freezer and the bbq ribs are thawed in the fridge, already for the today's meal with fried cabbage, and cornbread

Tuesday       Spaghetti

Wednesday  Hot dogs, french fries

Thursday        Chicken noodle soup

Friday             Tuna Fish sandwiches and leftover soup

Saturday         Out to eat...we go get it and eat at home.   Have you noticed that the out to eat food just isn't as good as it used to be?

Sunday           Fried Chicken, corn, mashed potatoes.

How's it going in your neck of the woods?

Great job on the sauerkraut!
How nice that your daughter lives in your childhood home. What good memories.
Your meals sound good. I think I'm going to put some beef stew in the Crock-Pot and make some artisan bread. Maybe a lemon loaf if I get energetic.
We were going on a picnic on the river last week, and I wanted to get Bojangles $20 meal, but they were out of chicken. What kind of chicken place runs out of chicken on a Sunday? ;)
Have a good week.

It is wonderful to keep houses in the family and have all the great memories there. The house I grew up on was owned by my great aunt for 35 years and now that she is gone her kids made it a rental house. UGH
I bet your sauerkraut is yummy. I agree that food from out is just not good when you go get it and bring it home. By that time it is lukewarm and not so great.

Oh a lemon loaf sounds delicious for that matter so does best stew!
I've never heard of a chicken place running out of chicken. That's wild!

The memories are so sweet. I bet you are sad that the house is a rental. Hopefully along the way someone in the family will buy it and love it.
The convience is nice for takeout but that taste is just not there. You right being lukewarm doesn't help it too much.

We went through the Burger King drive thru and they were out of burgers. We wondered why they had stayed open.

I've never made sauerkraut, is it hard? My mom made it when I was really young.

I know about bumping meals back.

It looks like I'm going to have a few more days off. My daughter-in-law came back from her sister's house sick. So she's under quarantine. She's pretty sure it's a major sinus infection. They were doing a lot of controlled burns around her sister & the smoke was really hard on her....but both she & my son have to quarantine for 10 days. It's the policy at their workplace to try to control covid. If they test negative they can go back the next day. But it takes days to get a test result back. She's testing this afternoon.

So I'll have one more day at least, maybe more. I've pushed hard today to get work done so that means tomorrow I can really take it easy.

Thanks Vickie, I got 2 of the free books.
We occasionally get takeout but aren’t eating in restaurants until this Covid yuck is better.

Vickie @Vickie's Kitchen and Garden said...

It's nice not hard at all..just shredded cabbage is every where! My sister in law made the great every time.

I'm praying that your dil is ok. Those sinus infections can really make you feel terrible.

The work never gets done here Jenny. We try though.

That's unbelievable! I don't think we've had that here yet.

Hi Vickie-great job on the sauerkraut! I've never made it. We still have a couple of cabbages in garden. We did get a freeze last week so had to end garden early-still have leeks, cabbages and acorn squash, but we've been slowly taking everything out.
We went to Sams Club today. 2 hours away-spent $375 but now we are pretty much set for whatever happens next. Got a new freezer last week (they are hard to get! we had on order for a couple of months). When we were shopping today we stopped at McDonalds drive thru-must've been 25 cars in line. We ended up stopping at a gas station for a burger and ate in the car-guess I'm a cheap date!

I'm just hoping and praying that nothing will happen next. I'm glad you are prepared because 2020 has been a wild ride so far.
Those lines will get ya. Dairy queen was real bad here in the summer. We will have to start taking sandwiches when we go haha.

Yes they say it's very dangerous to eat inside a restaurant so We get takeout too. Enjoy your reading!
