It's turn very cold here in our part of Michigan. I think this morning it's 12 degrees and it feels like 4 degrees. It was fairly warm for so long that we never did really harden up to the cold. I've dug out my sweaters and started fixing hearty warm soups. I've fixed beef stew in the crockpot yesterday (I make it like hamburger soup and then add a can of tomato soup to thicken it up). Today there are kidney beans in the crockpot for Chili. Eating something warm like that really makes a difference.

Soups and stews = comfort food. What I crave on cold days.
Great minds think alike...I made your hamburger stew last night, and we really liked it! Thanks!
It is cold here too this morning, around 18, but feels colder. We have maybe 3 inches of snow, but there is ice under it. Supposed to get more snow on Sunday.
Have a warm and cozy weekend.
We eat a lot of soup in the winter...even if we aren't as cold as you are!
Yesterday I got a great freebie haul. A crafting friend of mine is moving so she asked if I'd like some of her stamps & ink pads. She has so many she didn't want to take them all with her. Of course I said yes.
She gave me 15!!! unopened ink pads, all different colors, 3 used ink pads, three brand new packs of acrylic stamps, three acrylic blocks & a handful of kids stamps & wooden stamps. It had to be at the very least $50 worth. One of the wooden stamps I just happened to look at in Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago & it was $10 so I'm a happy girl. I do a lot of paper crafting.
My friend is the mother of 7 children, the youngest are 3 yr old triplets. She is also a grandmother! She told me that people are constantly giving her crafting supplies because she's very artistic & loves doing art. She's been overwhelmed with supplies & wanted to share them with me to use with my grandson.
I didn't mean to go on so but I'm pretty happy about such a great gift.
What a great friend Jenny. I know my grand kids loved stamps as well so he will have loads of fun!
Oh I'm so glad you loved the hamburger stew Kathy! You are as cold as we are. Yep we have to watch it everywhere too ..ice is so dangerous! Have a great weekend.
It does help a lot to make some soup or stews. Keeping the inside warm is the key!
Our temp was 4 this morning and felt like 3 or 4 below zero. Your stew sounds good. May have to fix that this weekend. Ann
Oh man Ann ..that's bone chilling cold! If you get the chance to make hamburger stew I hope you love it!
Brrr......that's cold. Have a blessed weekend and stay warm.
You have a wonderful weekend as well Melissa!
