Counting My Blessings

The part we needed for the oven came in yesterday and we quickly installed it.  Ok, he installed but I helped (I ordered the part).  Well any how, it now works perfectly! With a quick clean up the oven even looks new!   I'm am very blessed indeed.

Husband will be waking up to the smell of homemade biscuits this morning.  A celebration for sure!

These past few days when I think about everything that has quit working in the house these past few months (refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and washer/dryer), I'm also thinking of the people of western Kentucky and neighboring states.  Many of the survivors of the terrible tornado outbreak are now waking up in a shelter, motel, or friend/relatives house.  Everything they had was literally blown away.  Gone in one night with a mighty wind.  With that place they called home gone,  there is no place to cook dinner for the family tonight.  They may not have any of their own clothing left, let alone have a place to wash them.  All of their processions just gone.

They also are grieving for family or friends that passed away, for a life that they once lived, and the devastation of their home land that will more than likely take years to look somewhat like it did before. It must be overwhelming.  I'm sure though they are just thankful to be alive. I know I would be.  Just like that those little things in our house that have broken were put into prospective.

If you can please make a donation to one of the organizations that are helping the victims of this tragedy.  We sent our donation to the Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund on the Kentucky government website.

Your oven looks new! I'm not showing you mine!

I know how you feel about those tornado victims because that is where I have been, too. There is no way I can even begin to guess how awful it is. I cannot even imagine where they will even start to work through all the piles of rubble and how they will begin again. And too all the ones who are still missing. Right now I think they just need the will and strength to put one foot ahead of the other and keep going somehow. I think we will donate through Samaritan's Purse since we know that organization.

Glad you are all fixed.
We are just soooooooo blessed beyond belief. We take so much for granted. I cannot fathom what all those people are going through - it is just devastating on every level.

Yay! On homemade biscuits. I’m so sorry for the tornado victims. I would truly offer my extra bedroom if anyone wants to relocate to NC. 💔
