My Review:
I was able to enjoy Tiger Rising with my granddaughter. I think just the name of the movie appealed to her and she was excited to see it. She stayed interested the whole time and as I began to see it through her eyes, I could understand.
Many times it was slow going for me but she never stopped loving it and encouraged me to keep watching. I settled down and found opportunities to ask her some questions about what was going on with her school and school bus life. I asked her, does that stuff happen on your bus? She let me know a few things that she just couldn't believe. This movie is a good opportunity to talk about things that kids can relate to.
I love that they also offer educational resources to go along with the movie. It's good to look over them before and after you watch the movie so you can work these in.
The movie gave us both a range of emotions: we were sad, encouraged but yet frustrated at times by the characters circumstances, and last but not least we felt happiness.
Overall we've deemed it a good movie!
