We went back to the estate sale the next day where we bought the cleaning supplies at last week and got many things for 1/2 off. We bought this sewing cabinet for $25.00 and it was filled with needles, thread, and bobbins. I was in dire need of a new one. It even has a lift to put the machine up and down when I want to. I spent a couple of days happily organizing.
I've made Sunday's my sewing day. Sometimes it's just a few minutes but sometimes I have a hour or so. I'm trying to remember to make time for pleasures in life and sometimes I have to schedule it! So, I sew, no matter what the house looks like. I'll get that quilt done soon!
With seventy degree weather we were able to turn off the heat for a few days and one night. Yesterday, we opened up windows. let the fresh breeze blow in, and the cabbage smell out. We also went outside a lot and made sure that every muscle hurt working before we came back inside. Felt good, well kind of.
I planted mustard greens in the raised beds. I'm beginning to love the raised beds because there is no way we can plant anything in the large garden till it dries out.
The forecast for the day is rain and I'm glad. Yep, not that we need rain but now my focus will be back on the inside. There is always a lot of inside work and if you do it right, it doesn't hurt as bad.
We all went to a maple syrup tour at a local park and listened to a story from a native American Indian and a French fur trader. Such great history lessons for the grandkids. You know without the native Americans there wouldn't be maple syrup. We ate pancakes and sausage for breakfast with drink for $6.00 a person. It was very good and a great price.
