My Frugal Ways This Week 3/8/15

My Frugal Ways This Week
The jars of strawberry jam I've made so far this week.

Aldi's shopping:

We were completely out of strawberry jam so when I found that strawberries were on sale for 99 cents a quart (from Florida) I bought two flats.  I've always had good luck making jam with the strawberries bought at Aldi's.

I found Michigan apples 5 pounds for 99 cents.   I bought 5 bags of them.

We bought three packages of corned beef for $1.99 a pound..   One for St. Patrick's day and two other to freeze.   We will be using the extra this summer for smoked jerky (so much cheaper than the regular beef we've bought before).

Leftovers:

We ate meatloaf sub sandwiches this week with leftover meatloaf.

We used the rest of the meatless sloppy joe sauce for burritos the next day.

My frugal ways this week

We went to a estate sale and I found a brand new yogurt maker for $2.00.   Missing the instructions I watched a video on You tube on how to use the machine.   They say you can make almond milk yogurt hope it works.  Non dairy yogurt is very high priced.   I can see yogurt forming so I'm just going to keep it going for awhile this morning and hope for the best!

Through the week I'm too busy so I hold back receipts and rewards points till Saturday if it's possible. You can see the rewards I applied for this past Saturday here (the books may not be still free be sure and check before you buy).

How did you save last week?
