I bought some like new jeans, a housecoat, and a oil lamp that I have been looking for at a garage sale. All were priced for $1.00 apiece. The lamp oil was 75 cents.
This past week I have seen oil lamps from $80 (estate sale) to $20.00 (garage sale). I was very happy to be able to find this one. Never know when it may be needed.
I was given flowers from the volunteer garden that I worked at this week. After taking almost a month off with rain and other things, it was good to be back helping out. I was also given a a couple of yellow tomatoes, bananas peppers, and some Swiss chard.
We sold an item on a Facebook group this week.
I made a mattress, sheet set, cover and rug for the dollhouse that was given to us by a neighbor for the granddaughter.
I have had a revival of my zucchini and cucumber plants.😃 I was able to pick 2 cucumbers and 1 quite large zucchini.
Husband dug up about 1/4 of a bushel of new potatoes. He will dig up some more this week. I hope he tells me when he does, it's always fun to see how big they are.
Took the Kroger survey for more fuel points.
I made up two batches of biscuits and put one batch in the freezer for later.
What was on the menu this past week:
Monday Leftover day
Tuesday Baked chicken and salad
Wednesday Hamburgers
Thursday Grilled Chicken with sides of new potatoes, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers all from the garden.
Friday Grilled chicken salad (basically leftover grilled chicken on top of a salad)
Saturday Hamburger stew
Sunday Eating out
We put eating out once a week in to our budget. Husband
My Goals:
More of the rattlesnake green beans should be really coming in towards the end of the week. I hope to be canning more then.
Just a one more week of summer for the oldest grand before he goes to school. Seems like we didn't do enough fishing, four wheeling, or picnicking. I hope we can get a little more fun in this week. Somehow, I'm already missing summer.
What ways have you saved this past week?
