Here are the ways  we helped our household and saved this past week:

I made some beeswax bowl covers.  After watching a you tube video I found out how easy they were to make.  I'm going to see how much I use them and make more as needed.  I did use one last night to cover up my overnight refrigerator oatmeal and one on the Crisco that I've lost the lid too.  Worked great!

I'm making cinnamon rolls this morning for our cheat day.   They are rising on my electric heating pad.  Some of these will be going to family and friends too.  Sorry about the dark picture -so far this morning the sun hasn't made an appearance.   He has also requested fried apples. I'm going to try half the sugar in the recipe and see how it turns out.

Defrosted and organized the freezer.   There was less waste than the last time I cleaned it out.

I've been using our toaster oven more.  I bought it used (like new) for $5.00 last summer.  This one is a better model than I used before.  There is more room and more oven selections.  It will also come in handy at Thanksgiving and Christmas when the oven can get too full.

We found a repairman for the dishwasher and ended up paying just $80 for the repair.  It's been working fantastic for a little over a week.  So much better and cheaper than buying new.

I ordered a $25 Visa GC with my Swagbucks.

We took our granddaughter to a story time in the tree house at the local nature preserve.  She was able to help make apple cider in a little homemade apple press.  We paid $2.00 for the adventure and we all enjoyed it!

We are still able to pick mustard greens.  They are not as strong as before the frosts but still great tasting.

Goals for this Week:

Make more dish scrubbies.  I'm finally out and I'm certain oldest daughter must be too.

Finish crochet baby blanket.  I'm almost done.

What are the ways you saved this week?
