As I was taking the kids to school this morning I told them Thanksgiving is Thursday and that I had already shot and killed the turkey for dinner. I went on to say that it was in my refrigerator and that I do this every year. The grandson piped up, "yeah right Grandma if that was the case then why do I see the supermarket packaging every year in the trash?" Plus, he said, "you can't even throw a ball let alone shoot a turkey." Well. Then little granddaughter girl said, "that's illegal anyway." I cracked up laughing. I can't fool them for a minute. I'm thankful for those two everyday!
This picture is of two turkeys walking down our road last summer.

This Thanksgiving one of my step-daughters is having it at her house on Saturday. I am more traditional and will be making hubby and I our normal Thanksgiving meal on Thursday. We will have turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, cranberries, corn from this past summer I froze, apple pie, pumpkin pie, and pecan pie. It's just the two of us but I will be making our own frozen dinners for a later time. Same with the pies they will need to be froze in serving sizes, just for me hubby doesn't like pie.
Your meal sounds wonderful and I love your idea of frozen dinners. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family too on Saturday.
