I can't believe I went to the library yesterday.  It's funny how much you miss something when it's not available.  It's also funny that this is the place I missed the most.  Nope, I didn't rush out to do hair or nails (husband trimmed my hair), go clothes shopping, or go to a resturant to sit down, I went to the library!  We were both excited (youngest daughter went with me).

They had social distancing in place and only so many people could enter, so there were x's outside on the path.  We didn't have to worry a thing about that though, besides a young man at the computer we were the only patrons there at that time. So many go there to use the computers but they were marked that you could only use every other one.  We wore our masks of course, so we were good.

How nice it was to browse the books!  I checked out three and youngest daughter checked out 6.

Please a comment and let me know how it's going in your neck of the woods.

I have not used my library in almost a decade, except occasionally. I renewed my card last year & took my grandson twice but it was so much work so I never took him again.

But I do use my Kindle, thanks to you & a few other blogs I have plenty of books to read on it. And last week I messaged a dear friend & asked if she had any good fiction books. She let me rummage through her storage shed with floor to ceiling boxes of books! (She also let me rummage through a few other things...I came home with a nice bag of new clothes & some vintage wooden Christmas ornaments I plan to use to make a wreath to hang over my mantle)

I am very glad to be back to reading. It took some time for me to be able to focus enough to enjoy it again.

I'm so glad you got all those books. What a great friend.
Yes I'm back to reading too. Feels good doesn't it?

I was able to drop off the two books that I've had all through lockdown to my library last week. We can't go in as yet but we can order books online and then we'll be emailed when they are ready for pick up and we then choose a time slot. It will probably be another month before we can actually go into the library. However, I'm lucky as I have quite a backlog of my own books at home still to get through.

I am glad you got to go to the library. I got an email - but ours still isn't open (the branch I go to). Next week - it should open on limited terms. I really look forward to going again. Something about walking through all those books!!! LOL

I love that system Margie! What a great idea. Hopefully we will stay open it not I'm making that way a suggestion for our library.

Glad you could go to the library. The neighborhood "Little Free Library" is trying to open again, with restrictions. The main library is not accepting donations and I have a lot of books to donate. :-) Have a blessed day!

Hi Vickie and I am so happy your library is open and you were able to go there and pick up some books to read :) . So excited for you.

It brings to light just some of the things we all perhaps took for granted before this all happened.

Our local library is on reserve online and pickup books only at the moment but that may change next month when we have further ease of restrictions.

Have a great week ahead :).

They are not accepting donations at our main library either. I have seen the little free library's around town and I bet they have really done some business during this time. Have a great and blessed day to Melissa

Lorna, you are so lucky to be able to reserve online and pickup. Ours just closed down completely so we missed it terribly.
The little things will never be taken for granted again around here!

Glad you were able to go to the library. I know that felt good.
Ours has curbside pickup now where you request online and let them know you are there. They put it on a table outside. I haven't tried it though.
Enjoy your new books.
