It's Been a Week, Spring Cleaning, and Saving Money!

It's been a week, probably just like yours, snow then ice or ice then snow, wild roads, kids off school, dripping the faucets so they won't freeze, frozen chicken coop doors, snow shoveling, warming boots up by the heat vents, building fires in the fireplace, forgotten and frozen pop cans in the car, and finally my bones creaking (that if I can make them move).

This picture is this morning so we will shovel just a little bit.

I've been Spring cleaning these past couple of weeks because spring will be here before we know it!   I deep clean something everyday ..some days I count taking the donations to the thrift store as cleaning and take a break.  Keeping up the organization is the key but that starts to go down hill during gardening and holiday season. It would be a disaster though if I never did this in the winter months.

Saving Money:

I've been making next year's Christmas presents. I can't show them here because you know people read my blog.  So glad to have a good start.

I have enough Mperks from Meijer that today we will fill up there with .50 off a gallon of gas.

How did you save money this past week?

Love the picture of the fire! Looks like you had a lot of snow. We had about 3 inches plus ice and the zero temps. This weekend will be cold, but warm up next week. Stay safe and warm.
I haven't started spring cleaning yet or even thinking about next Christmas, so you are doing great.

I also wanted to get a jump start this month for Christmas, but that didn't happen here, but maybe in February. Spring sounds so wonderful right now. I can't wait to get back to warmer temperatures. Your fire looks beautiful and warm! Can you tell it's cold here? LOL

Lana, that wind is brutal! I'm wearing my hair up like it's summer to keep it from blowing in my face LOL. Summer can't come quick enough!

Belinda, Last year was a bad year for me. We both know things happen in our lives making it hard to concentrate. This year I promised myself to be better prepared so I'm working on it now when this weather is so brutal! I hope you can get started in Febuary.
I believe we are all frozen!

We have been below 0 with windchills for over a week. Had a heat wave of -2 ... yes you read the correctly LOL.
I spent one day taking everything off the L shaped breakfast counter and cleaned it and everything that was on it. Yesterday with the dog's beds and my bed. Today is the front room furniture throws and covers.
