Our tree in our side yard.   It's very heavy from the rain last night.  Look at the sun shinning today!

Happy Memorial Day!

This morning we are going to the Memorial Day parade then we will go the fireworks tonight.  Our city really goes all out to honor the Veterans.

I shopped the sales for the holiday.  Cheryl has a great article about shopping the sales here.  We made sure to buy the  hamburger and watermelon that was on sale at Meijers and the hanging flower baskets at Menards for $4.97.

Worked on the flower and vegetable garden.  The vegetable garden is still too wet.  We did get to till some more before we had a cloud burst last night.

A great friend gave me her top to her swing!   She doesn't use it because her swing sits in the shade.  We were so blessed!

I've been making my own popsicle's from Greek Yogurt.  It's been a money saver and I like how you can control how much sugar is in each one.  Last night I made Greek Yogurt Watermelon Popsicle's.   I bought my mold at Kroger for about $2.00.  I may buy another one and do more kid approved recipes for the summer.

The weather was cool this week so I made a turkey that we bought on sale the last holiday.  After two days eating we were done with it so I froze the rest to make in other dinners.

What was on the menu last week:

I just realized we didn't eat out last week!   We will try and remedy that today!

Monday      Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, and peas

Tuesday      Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, soup beans, and cornbread

Wednesday  Hot dogs

Thursday      Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans.

Friday           Turkey Sandwiches

Saturday       Cheeseburgers

Sunday         Goulash, garlic bread

My goals for this week

Plant the vegetable  garden when it's dry enough.  The forecast looks good.  I think this will be the only big goal for this week...it takes a lot of work.
