Here are the ways we've saved this past week:
Even though we have had the wettest Spring, that I can remember, everything is just beautiful. My crab apple tree has put on quite a show with it's beautiful blooms.
Husband decided Friday, while it was not raining, that it would be a good idea to plow the garden a little bit. It's our hope that this will help dry it out. I love how that you can see the big mud balls flying up in the air in the picture. We have till June 15 to plant and receive a good harvest.
Unfortunately, we cannot get out of the rain pattern for now. That night it rained some more and rained again yesterday (Saturday). Some of the counties around us have received even more rain than us and flooding is becoming a serious threat. My heart goes out to all the people around the United States right now that are having flooding.
Froze the last of the Turkey noodle soup into two pint sized jars. One day for dinner we will have it with a grilled cheese sandwich.
Used the soil from some of the failed winter sown jugs to put in the planters around the house.
Sold an item on craigslist.
One of my best deals for groceries this past week was hamburger on sale. I made up cooked hamburger, chili for hot dogs, and hamburger patties for the freezer. We also had meatloaf for dinner yesterday.
I was able to hang the clothes on the line one sunny, windy day this past week. They were dry in 45 minutes or less.
My goals for this week:
Keep planting flowers when and where I can. In some spots it's not even possible because it's just purty old mud like my Mom used to say. I heard the man at the green house yesterday tell a customer make sure you don't water those plants! ha ha
Keep crocheting and sewing at night.
